Extreme Faith. Naked Faith.

Hi all. I need your help. I love Jesus with all my heart... and yet... my faith has become bland, boring... something that just doesn't seem REAL anymore. I'm tired of it, and I've told God so. Moses once told God to give meat to the Isrealites (basically to stop them from whining to him) or to kill him. One or the other - to change the situation he was in. I'm not as bold as Moses. I'm afraid that where I am is a result of ME, not of God's doing. I'm pretty sure that, because God listens to AND answers prayers... I'd be dead by morning. He'd be grieved, but my prayer would be answered.

However... I WANT that faith again. I want to live a life with that kind of extreme faith. The kind of naked faith that David showed when he said, "SEARCH my heart. See if there is ANY wrong thing in me." That's why I put both Extreme and Naked in my title... Because I need your help to get there.

Whenever I get bored with something, I have to change things up a bit. At work, if I'm bored, I have to SEARCH OUT new challenges, new projects... I think it's spilling over into my faith. So I'm going to make a naked faith list. A list of things that change things up a bit, add a bit of "tabasco" as Glen called it. I'll update this list often, I hope. And perhaps I'll share what worked... and what didn't. Don't be offended if I don't take your idea. Perhaps someone else out there in cyberland will. I really appreciate the help, everyone. We're not a BODY if we don't help each other.

Little Toe OUT.

1. Sign a new song in PICTURES instead of WORDS
2. Interpret a sermon online
3. Call up a few friends and have an impromptu Bible Study
4. Teach a class on something Biblical
5.

You see why I need help? What shakes up YOUR faith?

Okay, I'll brainstorm...here are two that pop out:
-ask God to show Himself to you
-talk about God with children

More later!

or expressing praise through all your senses...painting, cooking, listening to nature's song, YES candles, writing poetry or an expressive essay or a song...explore difficult emotions in the context of worship...

Not sure what the weather is like right now where you live, but when it's reasonably warm out, I like to lay in the grass in a park or garden, stare up at the vast sky, and pray. Nature reminds me just how big and awesome God is, while the intimacy of prayer reminds me that I am blessed to know Him personally. :)

-take a walk and ask the Lord to show you himself in others.
-invite people over for an impromtu dinner, with everyone bringing a dish. Your home, your heart, God's moment . . .
