Giving

One of the best parts about taking a leap of faith is that often it requires a team of people.  People supporting
you, praying for you... and sometimes giving.

I've been asked by several people, "Can I help you financially?"  Every time someone says those words I'm surprised... and HONORED.  This isn't a "Please give to me!" post.  This is a post that explains how to give if you want to.  I'll have two options to do so.

OPTION ONE

Make a donation directly to my PayPal account.  It's simple and easy.  It is a donation directly to me, so you won't receive any tax benefits for this.  I will transfer this money into my moving account and use it for moving expenses.

  • To make a PayPal donation go to this link: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/send-money-online  (Or go to www.paypal.com, hover over "Transfer," then click "Send Someone Money")
  • Type in your email, my email (emilyshill at gmail dot com), and the amount you'd like to give.
  • PayPal will walk you through the rest.  It's FREE to give if you have a PayPal account or enter your bank account.  There's a small fee for use of a credit or debit card.

OPTION TWO
Make a donation to Sought Church in order to receive tax credit.  We are still working on the logistics for tax exempt status, so all donations will go through the District.

  • Go to:  https://agncn.webconnex.com/eGive
  • Scroll down to "Other" and type the amount in the corresponding box and pick the appropriate drop down option
  • In the Memo box type: "Sought Church Moving"
  • Complete all the Donor and Billing Information, then click "Submit"
  • When you receive confirmation of your donation, email that confirmation to jakem at soughtchurch dot com (This has to be completed because the donation is combined with other donations to the church and the Network is unable to separate donations)

THANK YOU.
Seriously.
There are a lot of expenses associated with this move, but I'm doing my best to follow where God is leading.  I've been so blessed by people wanting to pray for me and encourage me, and I'm shocked when people say they want to give.  It's incredible...  You are all incredible.

This and That

I stole this from another blog--Michelle is a Compassion Advocate and I love reading her stories about her kids, etc. She posts this from time to time... and I sometimes have a hard time coming up with fun topics... so this is what *I* am going to modify for myself!!! :)
  • Outside of my window…. it finally looks like November. :) It's gray, drizzly, cool... It's funny, though... with the warm days + the rain, some of my plants have started blooming again! I've got a bright yellow Gerbera Daisy on my porch--my favorite flower... thanks, God!
  • I am hearing… the Dick Van Dyke Show. I just turned an episode on to watch while I ate some lunch. :) All weekend, though, it's been Pandora with Christmas music!
  • I am smelling… my fuzzy, snuggly Lockwood.
  • I am wearing… my 2007 RID long sleeved shirt. It's warm and comfy.
  • My plans for the day…I already went to church... I help sometimes with the sound for Children's Church. It was fun, and the kids were super cute. I MAY have friends swinging by later, but not sure. That means I should probably vacuum downstairs! :)
  • I am thankful for… my long weekend. I've been off work since Wednesday (it's Sunday now) and have done SO Much in my house. It's been a long time since I've been this productive.
  • I am thinking about… how glad I am that I've gotten connected with Faith Assembly of Lacey. I just love the people there, and God is truly growing me there.
  • I am creating… at the moment... nothing. I haven't picked up my cross-stitch for a LONG time. I may have to do that soon.
  • I am praying for… My Ezra in Indonesia. She's my sponsored child through Compassion, and I've been writing her more and more lately... I feel like I'm actually developing a relationship with her--and it's about time. If you sponsor a child, I would really like to encourage you to WRITE to him or her... it's as important as the monthly money.
  • My projects for the week… Well, my major project this weekend was getting my house clean - and, except for the office, I accomplished it. It feels SO good.

I should have a rule...

I should have a rule that says when it's late... I go to bed. No such rule. Instead, I bake brownies, watch movies, and play Packrat. Oy. At least it looks like John and Kathy are playing, too. lol and John's all the way over on the other side of the country. lol I'm just grinding Jetpacks 'cause there's no powerdrills to be found. ;)

Cosmo is sleeping on my desk. I can't see the bottom part of my computer because he's completely covering it. he's so cute, though... I can't make him move. hehe they've been really sleepy today... therefore, very snuggly!

Today I cleaned my kitchen. AND went grocery shopping. Nice to have some food in the cupboard. And I like going to church at night on Saturdays. it's really good. I really like my church. I've met so many people who've grown up there or have been going for YEARS (15 years for one woman tonight)... and it is really good to hear stories like that... sometimes people stay in churches because... it's habit. Or family is there, or something. But this lady said, "I've been coming for 15 years. I love it here. and I come on Saturday's because I love the way Pastor Peter preaches. and besides, don't you just love sleeping in on Sunday mornings?! :)" I couldn't have said it better, lol.

BTW - I've really been in the Bible lately... I can't believe how I've grown from it. Remember my 30 List - how I'm supposed to be reading every day? Well, God's brought me through... Matthew, Philippians, Romans, Titus, Isaiah, Hebrews, working on Hosea right now... I feel like I'm missing something. It's incredible. I feel like every day I'm praticing obedience first... getting in the Word and simply obeying God. I'm learning about and from Him. I'm growing in joy like never before. I feel like I'm completely different than I was 3 months ago. How I respond to stressors in life is SO different... completely evolving. Like... like I have my Jesus filter back - it's been so long since I've looked at life through Him.

Anyway, it's totally late and I have to go read and then go to bed. Any suggestions for the next book? Jenni suggested Hosea (while we were youtubeing) - I'm up for any other ideas, otherwise I'll just jump in to something!

Night all!
