MEETING STEVEN!

OK, here I am on 4 hours of sleep. LOL I woke up thinking about how GREAT the Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin concert was!!!

OK, here's part of the story for you. I'll tell more later, but this is long enough for now! :)

I won the Meet and Greets for the Seattle concert from the Shaohannah's Hope Auction. I was excited, even though I anticipated the assembly line thing, with a minute to say "Hihowareyagreatconcertthanksloveyabye!" Well...

When all the backstage pass people were gathered in one section, the head Shaohannah's Hope guy stands in front of us and says, "Who are the auction winners?" My friend and I raise our hands and another couple (who got the tickets/meet and greets) raised theirs. He told us to go down to the front, so we climbed over people and got down there. We stood there for a minute, and he introduced himself--it was GREAT meeting someone so instrumental in so many families lives!!! Soo....

They walked the four of us BACKstage, not just in the big backstage area, but back by the dressing rooms. So we're standing there chatting with this guy (and I'm getting kind of shaky because WOW, I'm REALLY MEETING Steven, not just shaking his hand!!!). While we're waiting, Chris Huffman--bass player for Casting Crowns (i.e. funky hair guy!!) comes back and my friend and I start talking to him about different hairstyles and the concert and stuff---I really liked him! Nice guy! So he went back to the rest of the band to do whatever. And then...

I hear this "WOO!" coming from the dressing room in front of us and I thought "STEVEN!!! HEHHEEEEEEE!!" (You should have seen the perma-smile! LOL) He came out and just grinned at the four of us! He spent a few minutes chatting with the other couple, talking about LIFE with them--it was so great. And then... He turns to us and we introduce ourselves............... and we all talked for a good 5 or 10 minutes. I even got a REAL hug--no two real hugs! LOL, not just the side, good to know you kind. REAL ones! I'll just say that... again, Steven impressed me. I was definitely a loopy fan, but... he was just so REAL. Anyway, after we talked and he took pics iwth the other couple and signed their stuff, he pulled out the Sharpie for us. I had a sheepish grin and said, "I've got a picture from the Minnesota AAL concert for you to sign..." He looked at it, got a huge smile and said, "My YELLOW JACKETS!" (It was a group one with him and a bunch of boardies.) Here's where it applies to this thread. That picture was taken in Feb. 2003. AFter he grinned for a minute, he got a funny look on his face, then looked between me and the picture a few times. He asked, "Are you in this picture????" I laughed and said, "Yeah... my hair's a lot longer now and I... I've lost a lot of weight." He kept looking back and forth from me to the picture and said, "WOW! You're... longer... and and... longer and skinnier! hahaha!" It made me laugh!

I LOVED IT. It was SO amazing!!!!!!! SO incredible. The concert was phenomenal--he topped himself again. I will post a pictures when they're developed.
