Happy Tuesday

It's freezing here. I can't believe how cold I am. After this, I think I have an email to write and then I'm going to go to bed to read and turn on the electric blanket. MAN. I'm COLD!

I can't believe it's the 10th. 10 days till 30... This is actually the first year in a long time I'm looking FORWARD to my birthday. It's kind of surprising. But... once I turn 30... that's just... strange. I mean, I've complained for the last DECADE that people think that because I look like I'm TWELVE, I'm not capable. Now at least I'll be able to say "I'm thirty" and have perhaps a TINY bit more credibility. But... it just hit me the other day... I'm happy with my life, I am. I just...wanted more by this point. So that's hard to take. And, to be honest, it's hard for me to BE completely honest on this blog because most of you are married and have no idea what it feels like to be staring that new decade in the face wondering if God's promises are really true for marriage and family. (Please no trite answers to that statement--I've heard it all before and have no desire to hear it again.) I trust God. It's just... Well, here - I'll pose a question to you all:

A pastoral team prays about a "word for the year" and gets something that, straight from Scripture, gives hope to the congregation. The believers at that church begin to pray that God would move in their lives--and, feeling led by God, they write down their prayers for the year... Things they truly feel like God is going to accomplish in their lives. They focus on prayer and reading the Word, truly seeking after God's heart in their lives. Story after story come in... miraculous healings, people getting out of debt, families reunited, hearts mended and brought closer to their Savior. And yet... though led by God to pray specifics for that year... some people do NOT see these miraculous things happen. They are left empty handed--YES, closer to Jesus (and yes, that's the point). But... I suppose the question is... why do SOME people have their prayers answered and OTHERS don't? It's the question of the ages, isn't it?

Tonight I completed a household task... in triumph! ;) My kitties... rascals they are... they like to open up cupboards. That means that they try to go in and out and in and out of my 3 cupboards in my bathroom. At night. When I'm sleeping. (Imagine major GRRRRness at 2 am.) Last week I bought some latches (the kind you use for kids). I just installed them tonight. :) the cats just stared at me... four golden orbs crying "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" Muahahahahhaaaa... let's see how far they get TONIGHT. :)
