Good evening everyone.

Strangely enough, this is one of my favorite pictures from Alaska. The only thing that's truly Alaskan about it is the nighttime sunlight reflected off my journal. The sun was just setting... it was around 10 pm on my first night there. I had been spending time with Jesus and taking pictures of His creation.

I think the reason that this is one of my favorites is because it represents my life--or at least what I want my life to look like. Jenni said once that my life is in constant flux, and I've adopted that phrase as my own--because it's true. My circumstances are ever changing. My spirit is ever changing, learning to emulate my Creator more and more each day, despite my sins and my shortcomings. And yet, through it all, Jesus Christ remains a constant.

This picture is a perfect copy of that for me. The hotel vent, the late sunlight, the knowledge that my suitcase is sitting on the floor below this window... all are overshadowed by the one constant I will ever know... My Savior and Lord. Even the Bible represents both He and I... the handwriting showing the different stages of my life, while the words and the well-worn cover prove His faithfulness time and again.

I'm learning a lot these days. I'm growing a lot. I'm experiencing more growing pains than I ever have, and though they grieve me, they also bring a hope which was unexpected. The pain will subside... My life will be purer. Holier. Closer to the One I long to cling to.

Hmmm, good thoughts. Good thing you're "flux-ible" or things would probably be rougher than they are. smile Thank you for sharing with us! And excellent picture.
